Enzo Favara has much to learn as the newest recruit in the Torrisi crime family, though he'll have to receive most of that education on the job. In this video series, we'll take a close look at the gameplay of Mafia: The Old Country, and by extension, what it takes to make it in the brutal criminal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Each video is narrated by a different character from the game, starting with the Don himself.

Mafioso Gameplay:

As Enzo rides out to deliver Don Torrisi's message across the Valle Dorata, he'll get a taste of what soldatos must do to earn their place in the Mafia. Even a seemingly simple job like collecting payments can lead to a standoff at gunpoint or a brutal knife duel. And when Enzo is tasked with getting his hands even dirtier, that might mean skulking through hostile territory to quietly dispatch guards, charging toward danger guns-blazing, or doing whatever else it takes to eliminate the Family's enemies.

Combat Gameplay:

The Torrisi family's protection doesn't come free. If any are unwilling to pay the price, blood will be spilled—whether it belongs to the Don's enforcers or enemies. To survive his new responsibilities, Enzo will have to charge headlong into tense shootouts and deadly knife fights. The choice of tools and exact tactics depends on the task, but when the calm or quiet approach can't get the job done, you'll have to rely on period-authentic weapons, unpredictable allies, and a sharp eye for explosive opportunities nestled around the environment.

Vehicles & Villas Gameplay:

For all the grime and treachery hiding beneath its surface, life in and around the Don's villa offers no shortage of genuine beauty. From driving and riding around a stunning countryside to sharing bottles of the Torrisi vintage, it's easy to see why so many covet the Family's power and influence. Enzo must be ready to defend the Don's hard-earned territory in exchange for this new life as a mafioso.

We'll have to stop there to keep from divulging too much and breaking Omertá, but you won't have to wait much longer to experience the rest of the game for yourself. Mafia: The Old Country launches on August 8, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and is available for pre-order and pre-purchase now.
