In December, we put out a call to find the best Photo Mode photographers in the Family, and your efforts did not disappoint. Ever since the highly requested Photo Mode feature arrived via Mafia: The Old Country's Free Ride Update in November, we've seen so many of you sharing stunning shots of our beloved Valle Dorata. We're spotlighting a handful of our favorites below, including commentary from some of the developers at Hangar 13. Thanks so much to everyone who submitted; we can't wait to see what you capture next.

Dominik Regec, Lead Environment Artist: "The vertical composition of these environment shots is excellent; the environment with the combination of captured weather perfectly conveys the specific atmosphere we aimed to achieve."

Jakub Vavrik, Associate Art Director: "This is great, I really like the views you can get in the uphill streets in this part of San Celeste. It was fun to take the small section near the marketplace that was established in Mafia II and work out the rest of the city from there for Mafia: The Old Country. We discussed and planned all the roads, side alleys, and stairs so views like these are possible, and it's great to see players finding and enjoying them."

Steven Noake, Art Director: "All of these shots have a lovely, dreamlike quality. In particular, I love the image from the Saints Day mission—it’s a beautiful moment, captured perfectly."

Milan Saffek, Lead Vehicle Artist: "I love this image and I have a particular soft spot for the Garzia Tumulto. We first introduced this car for Mafia: Definitive Edition, and it was great to reimagine it for use in Mafia: The Old Country. The design of this car is so evocative of the evolution of the motor car; a high performance engine strapped to a minimal chassis. It’s clearly hair-raising, raucous, and immense fun to drive!"
Personal Picks
While the following shots were shared online by players separately from our Photo Mode Challenge, we couldn't help but spotlight a handful more of our favorite compositions that we spotted in the wild:

Ryan Guy, UI Art – UI Direction - "A great portrait and light study. Reminiscent of a Rembrandt or a Dutch masters painting. Strong directional light and hard shadows combined with a deep dark moody background. I love it. This was a fundamental part of the inspiration for the Main Menu's still life scene, so it’s great to see it captured in the game world too."

Michal Drimalka, Lead Environment Artist: "Oh, gorgeous and picturesque snapshots from the Old Country. I'm sure everyone can feel the omnipresent embrace of the Sicilian sun's heat drifting through every corner of this beautiful land. I wish to go back and revisit some of the real-world places which served us as references for our game.”
Dominik Regec, Lead Environment Artist: "I love the close-up shot at the window. By framing the broken architecture against the Sicilian greenery, this shot highlights the core themes of our world—the elegance of the past giving way to natural and social erosion."
